Born in Connecticut, Anne Merritt is a physician, writer, and teacher. She lived and practiced medicine for a decade in New Haven, which serves as the focal point for this collection. Her poetry has received many honors, including the Marguerite Rush Lerner Award at Yale University. She is the author of a historical essay, “The Rise of Emergency Medicine in the Sixties.” She teaches in the emergency department at Stanford University.

This is her first book of poetry.
