Until his retirement in 2007, Randel McCraw Helms was a professor of English at Arizona State University, where he taught classes in the Romantic poets, Shakespeare, and the Bible as literature. His published books include Tolkiens World, Who Wrote the Gospels?, and Gospel Fictions. Making poems has been his lifelong obsessive avocation. He lives near Phoenix with his wife and cats.
